Egypt Revisited

In a few days we will celebrate the Exodus from Egypt some 3000 years ago. It's one of our central holidays in Israel and we sit together every year and read the story of Moses leading the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt across the Red Sea and Sinai Desert to the Promised Land. The story is told as if experiencing this transition from bondage today. In addition Passover is also a festival of renewal, reorientation and springtime.

After Israel's peace treaty with Egypt I have been wanting to see the pyramids and the Nile, but the unstable political situation over many years caused constant safety warnings for Israeli travelers.

This ancient high culture holds so many wonders and mysteries and it's intreaguing art and ornamentation is a wonderful source of inspiration for any creative. The typically flat, colorful design style seems even modern today!

I hope one day I will be able to make my dream reality and gain many new artistic impressions!
